Welcome to PAWFirst!

Sasha is a sweet, well behaved girl who is going to be someone’s baby. She was rescued from our local animal control approximately 5 minutes before being euthanized. Her outer beauty was being disguised by a filthy, matted coat of hair. Her inner beauty shined through when it needed to though. She placed her paw gently against the cage she was in and caught our attention. Her plea told us we had to give her a chance. Little did we know, she was a true “diamond in the rough”.

This dog is amazing. She cleaned up very nicely after removing the stickerthorns that were tangled in her long fur coat (this took 2 hours). She had to have been so uncomfortable because you could see her come alive when she was able to rest comfortably. For the first time in probably a very long time, she was able to lay down on her stomach without whining. She seized that moment and immediately fell asleep on her foster mom’s lap.

She knows how to sit, heel, and has obviously been taught not to jump up on people. She will also *shake* if you ask her nicely. We can let her loose in the house and be comfortable about her not destroying anything. Her sleeping place is on her own doggie bed...which she loves.

We believe Sasha is around 2-3 years old..and will know more when we get her in to our vet. She will be heartworm checked and parasite free when she is adopted to her new family. She is already spayed. It is obvious that this dog was once part of a family. We do not know what happened that caused her to be homeless and on death row…. What we do know is that someone is missing out on a very special dog!

We are now accepting applications on Sasha. Her adoption fee is $100.
